The Band Toto Asia
Toto was expanding its production facilities in the overseas market and was doing business in France, Germany, Indonesia, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, and the People's Republic of China. The company considered North America as a growth market for Washlet's bidets and toilets, as opposed to its "base" markets of Japan and China.
Dhaniram Toto documented Toto words to ensure that the future generation could be able to read them. Many words were substituted with foreign ones. For instance, dui, which is Bengali for verandah, was being used.
Origins
Incorporated in 1917, Toto's early years were a mirror of Japan's economic development. In the first half of its existence, the company made goods to meet demand for modern and contemporary urban housing. To achieve this, it used the first tunnel kiln in the country to produce ceramics in continuous flow. It also pioneered the use automation to control production, allowing for more efficiency and consistency.
In the late 1980s, the company began to expand overseas in order to take advantage of sales and new markets. The company founded the Cera Trading Company to import and sell other manufacturers' products to enhance its own range of sanitary earthenwares and plumbing fittings. This strategy boosted sales and increased the company's market share.
In the 1990s, Toto had shifted its focus on research and development of water-related household appliances. It also improved its distribution system to better serve customers and boost profits. The company implemented a just-in-time approach to managing its supply chain, and it used the same method in its sales strategy. This led to a higher level of customer satisfaction.
Toto has been able to continue to innovate with regard to toilet technology. Its latest toilet has a powerful, environmentally-friendly tornado flush. The company also makes use of recycled water in its production process and has a green purchasing policy. Toto also produces bathtubs, faucets, and hand dryers with higher energy efficiency than conventional models.
The first Toto museum opened in the year 2015. It hosts exhibits on Toto’s seminal products as well as their evolution, group companies (all of which are made from ceramics) and the history of plumbing and other products like bath units. In an additional gallery, you can view Toto products that are sold across the world. The museum houses the bathroom equipped with a WASHLET as well as other toilet innovations.
Before forming Toto, members of the band did sessions for a variety of musicians. Keyboardist David Paich, drummer Jeff Porcaro, and guitarists Mike Porcaro and Steve Lukather all performed on the album Silk Degrees by Boz Scaggs. They also performed on albums by Steely Don, Seals and Crofts and Sonny and Cher.
Discography
With a name as evocative as Asia one would expect the group to be prog queens and kings but they're actually a pretty straight forward rock group. The group was formed as four members and released two albums in 1979, the self-titled debut album and 1980's Armed to the Teeth. However, even though the group have a wide range of musical backgrounds, their biggest success came in 1982 with Toto IV.
The album was a major blockbuster, but it was not without its share of problems. The record companies placed Toto under pressure to deliver the top single or they would drop the album. Toto was able to achieve this through the aid of the hit song "Africa."
Toto's musical mastery is a result of their prior experience. Before joining the group, the members were session musicians for artists such as Boz Scaggs. Steely Dan and Seals and Crofts. Their sonic trademark has become the standard of '80s music, influencing many contemporary artists.
This album starts off hard with tracks like Running Out of Time and Unknown Soldier showcasing the bands ability to write fantastic AOR songs that slowly work their hooks into your mind. The album also has some slower, more jazzy tracks like The Little Things and Chinatown. The album concludes with Great Expectations, a song that mixes folk with distortion AOR and should sound totally wrong, but works wonderfully well.
After Toto IV, the band's fortunes changed towards the negative. David Hungate left to concentrate on his solo career, and the band was through several drummers. In 1984, Bobby Kimball was fired from the band in aftermath of drug-related charges. However, 토토사이트 꽁머니 continued as a trio, which included Michael Porcaro and Steve Lukather.
Despite the chaos, Toto forged ahead and released Isolation that was not as successful as IV. However, the band had a successful chart-topping album in 1992, Kingdom of Desire. This album marked Toto's final lineup and the debut of Simon Phillips, a new vocalist.

Steve Lukather has forged a vibrant, intimate friendship with Joe Williams that is flourishing professionally all over the world. In 2018, the duo celebrated 40 Tours Around the Sun with a hugely successful tour across the globe. The album that bears the same name was ranked at #5 on the Billboard 200. The band's new tour includes their most popular songs and rarely performed live deep cuts, alongside some of the songs from Lukather and Williams' individual catalogs.

Line-up
Turn Back, the band's third studio album is an attempt to return to the classic sextet structure, and an even more consistent and powerful effort with a harder edge. Its edgier sound was indicative of the maturation of group, with drummer Bobby Kimball's increased ability on the drums and a more mature, confident vocal delivery by singer Joseph Williams. David Paich's keyboard skills were also sharper, more complex and less akin to earlier efforts.
After touring to promote the album, the band recorded a live performance in Amsterdam which was released as a two-CD set entitled Falling In Between Live on Eagle Records. A new studio album was released a few months later, and the band embarked on a long-distance tour to promote the album. During this period keyboardist Greg Phillinganes replaced Paich and bassist David Hungate quit the group to spend time with his family.
In 1998, Paich and Lukather started exploring old tapes and demos for an album that would feature songs that had never been recorded before. It was completed in 2001 and released as a double album titled Then and Now. It was the band's first album that did not contain the single track "A". The album also contained an previously unreleased track titled "Kari-Anne".
By 2003, Toto had begun to decline in popularity. The group's fourth album, Old Is New, was a commercial failure and the vocalist Williams suffered from a bad laryngitis infection which limited his singing capabilities. Additionally, Hungate returned to Nashville as a drummer, and Leland Sklar was replaced by Shem von Schroeck.
Downes, Wetton Palmer and Howe, the original members of Asia, met in England in the early part of 2006 to discuss the possibility that the group could be revived. The lineup, which was minus Howe (who was working with Yes at the time) was later referred to as Toto XIV and toured extensively.
In 2010, the band reunited for another reunion tour with a slightly different line-up, including guitarists Mike Porcaro and Steve Lukather, drummer John Pierce, bassist Shannon Forrest, and multi-instrumentalists Warren Ham and Dominique Taplin. The group also featured a special appearance by singer Michael McDonald and a backing vocalist named Mabvuto Carver.
