Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade
The stats of an item can be improved by upgrading it, also known as "upping". Each upgrade increment provides an increase in the linearity of any stat.
Players can recycle up to six items at a time to gain an indicator of the level of the item's upgraded components. The cost of recycling items increases according to their rarity and level.
Upgrade components
An upgrade for an item in Guild Wars 2 is a process that can increase the stats of your weapons and armor. This can be achieved through many different methods such as the use of upgrade components and also upgrading an item's mark level or rarity. A lot of items can be reforged in order to increase their stats.
Upgradable items can be found all over the game, both within the world and as rewards for missions. They can also be made by players. The primary method to upgrade gear is through the use of upgrade components, which are items that can be inserted into equipment. Most equipment comes with upgrade slots, and the majority require a certain upgrade level. Some upgrade components give specific bonuses while others give an overall bonus.
There are many types of upgrade elements available in the game. These include universal upgrades, inscriptions, and jewels. Universal upgrades, such as gems and enchantments, are able to be put in any equipment type and offer fewer bonuses than those that are equipment-type specific to the type of equipment. Glyphs are only available in gathering tools, and provide a variety of bonuses, from increasing the speed at which an item gathers to supplying additional crafting materials.
Select the item in your inventory, and then open the Upgrade window. This will display an overview on the right side of the screen, showing what the expected stats are after the upgrade, as well as any required components or materials. If you do not have enough of either the two, the Upgrade button will show as Blocked.
The number of upgrade components needed for a given item is displayed in the upper-right corner of the Upgrade window. The cost of upgrading increases depending on the level of the upgrade and its rarity, however it can be reduced by many different methods, such as buying upgrades from a retailer or trading them to other players.
Most weapons can be upgraded by an upgrade to a prefix like an insignia or rune, and a lot of them can be upgraded with a suffix upgrade. These upgrades include an adjective in the name of the item for example "Radiant" or "Minor Vigor".
Glyphs
Glyphs can be used to convey visual information. They animate in order to grab the viewer's eye and entice curiosity. The glyphs' animation mimics body language, which makes them more effective at conveying the message across linguistic barriers. Glyphs also improve the recall of a message by evoking an experience of familiarity in the brain.
upgrade item has a range of values that it can improve a stat by according to the item when you open the glyph in the Glyph Storage or when you use it to enchant an Artifact. This is the maximum value that a glyph can improve a stat by but not the amount it will actually increase the stat by. The actual value of the glyph is determined by the tier and the quality of the product you are in awe of it.
The majority of upgrade components that are installed into items cannot be removed or replaced without dismantling them, with the exception of legendary upgrades and equipment. If you have a glyph or rune you don't want to use, but it hasn't been applied to gear yet, you can transfer the item to another piece by selecting the Upgrade Glyphs menu in the Glyphs Panel. This will create a new Glyph Set with the selected glyph.
If you are looking to remove a glyph from an item, you will need to salvage it with an Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. This will cause the item to be destroyed within which it is placed however, you can salvage the upgraded item by using the glyph and its shards, therefore, it shouldn't be considered as a loss.
item upgrading of a glyph to an item may cause it to become unstable and the shards of the glyph will disappear from your inventory once you dismantle the item. You can also apply an inscription on your equipment to provide an extra benefit. Deferred Damage, for example, can store damage and then be dealt out slowly to the wearer rather than all at one time. This is beneficial for players who take lots of damage from their enemies, but do not want to be overwhelmed.
Reroll tokens
Reroll tokens permit players to change the affixes of their weapons and equipment, and they can be obtained in a variety of ways such as in mistery boxes, as rare drops from skulled creatures, or from killing bosses. Every reroll grants the player an affix randomly chosen and generally better than the one they had prior to. Reroll tokens can be used to boost the weapon's stats to increase damage or bonuses.
Rerolled items are not listed in the menu of upgrade options, however they can be upgraded. When you press the "upgrade button", you can recycle the recycled items. This will change the appearance of the window for the item, and allow up to six items be selected for recycling. The level gauge is boosted by recycling an item. This amount is determined based on the item's rarity and also its level. Therefore, items that are higher level are more valuable for recycling than those with lower levels.
In addition to reroll tokens, players can use Star Remnants and Reroll Tokens to roll the traits of a weapon in an upgraded unit. Rerolls roll the % chance of a weapon trait. If it rolls higher, the weapon will be upgraded. If it is lower, the weapon remains unchanged. Weapons can be rerolled up to three times.
Rerolling is a great way to upgrade an item. However, players should be aware that the total ilvl will be diminished by the number of the rerolls required to bring it to the final level. This effect is most evident on Diadems and Rings, because they are the only options to raise the ilvl.
Some players have complained that the reroll system is expensive. It's better to allow people to pay for it using money or food items which would allow players to make changes to their builds without having to spend excessive amounts of time. The developers have no plans to offer paid rerolls in this stage of the game's development. They're planning to include an ingredient that allows players to change their race in the future.
Leveling
There are several ways to upgrade an item. The first way to level up an item upgrade is to increase the upgrade amount. This increases the value of an upgrade for a stat. The second is to boost the effect of an upgrade that increases the damage or heal of a given stat. The base item can be upgraded to a more advanced upgrade type. When this is done the new item will keep its iLevel but it will be upgraded with the effects of the upgraded type of item.
It is crucial to keep in mind that upgrades can be random. In most cases a better roll is based on the glyphs. However there are instances when a more or unique roll can occur. In addition the iLevel of the upgrade will be determined by the type of item and if you upgrade a rare or unusual item to an exceptional item type you will have a chance to gain an increased iLevel.
Upgrades can be costly particularly if you are upgrading your equipment from the standard track to the legendary. The cost of upgrading an item will depend on the iLevel it's built upon as well as the number of levels to upgrade. Certain upgrade tracks require crests in order to get to the next level.
If you're lucky the upgraded item could get to the top of its upgrade track and gain an additional effect. This will give you a substantial boost in the upgrade value of the item. The bonus effect will change with each upgrade level. Generally speaking the upgrade effect is increased by a value of +3.
Depending on the item's level of base and upgrade path, the iLevel of the upgraded item will change too. For example an item upgraded from a rare or exclusive item to an extraordinary one will have the chance to gain the Enhanced Defense of the new base item.
